Spring Jackets in Helsinki

Spring in Helsinki is a mixed bag. We have one day of sunshine followed by three days of grey, fog and drizzle – perhaps that’s why the Finns are so good at bringing colour into their lives in other ways with brilliant Finnish prints. This little kids Marimekko jacket brightens up the bleakest of days.

This day we were supposed to go to my friends interior bloggers event but due to G’s long nap we arrived late and missed the whole thing – so we ended up here. Exploring a little piece of abandoned railway at Pasilan Vanhat Veturitallit. Still, I love these pictures as they really capture our Little Traveller who has been super adaptable to wherever in the world we have taken her. Kids are amazing like that. I am so proud of her.

If you fancy winning a trip to Helsinki if not for the weather than for the vibrant design scene, Marimekko is running an Instagram competition for all of May. Check it out here

    1. Thank you! šŸ˜€ It was a tough winter being our first in Finland. Really not comfortable for me at -17 degrees!! I am not looking forward to the next one already. We are just living here for a couple of years then we need to find somewhere warmer. I really need to see the sun, or at least more daylight! šŸ˜‰

      1. I totally understand, it must be nice to have experienced it though! In regards to warmer weather, there are lots to choose from šŸ™‚ so good luck!
