Little Traveller Things

Hi, I’m Aleasha!

This blog shares a little about my life and relocation from New Zealand to London, Beijing, Helsinki and then finally Seattle with kids.

Before this journey started I was a Online Fashion Merchandiser in London when I decided it was time to explore the world with my husband and two kids. It’s been a life changing, eye-opening, educational, and never dull experience being a Mum in unexpected corners of the world.

I always have grand plans to write more than I do, but lately I spend my days encouraging my spirited girls to sleep a little longer so that I can at least finish my cup of coffee. You can find me sporadically on Instagram @littletravellerthings . Thanks for reading!

  1. Hi Aleasha, thanks for following my blog. If you would like to meet up for coffee sometime you can find me via my Contact Me page. Just in case you’d like to hear another NZ accent in Helsinki – there’s not many! ; )

  2. Hey! I’m in Helsinki too 😉 I’m a Finn though but my background is pretty international. Signed up to follow your blog, seems very interesting and I can’t wait to read more!

      1. Yeah, Finnish is a tough language 🙂 Good luck with that!!

I grew up speaking English, spent my childhood in Australia, etc. I guess I’m not a typical Finn and I do in fact often feel like an outsider in my own country! That’s why I love to travel and ended up working in the travel industry…

I’m happy that the atmosphere in Helsinki is now gradually becoming more international. Hope you’re enjoying youself here?

The sun is almost out, have a nice day!

  3. So pleased I stumbled across you on Instagram! I am a kiwi too although living in Japan presently. I would absolutely love to live in Scandinavia one day! Can’t wait to follow on with your blog

    1. Hi, thanks for visiting my blog! I too would love to hear all about Japan. It’s somewhere we haven’t yet been, so I’ll look forward to seeing your updates! Love hearing from other Kiwi’s living in interesting places – Japan is definitely interesting, I bet it’s crazy at times! 😉

  4. Hi Aleasha!
I’m a Kiwi/Sri Lankan, currently living in Melbourne, planing on longterm trave with my two kuds under 6 at the end of this year.
I bumped into you on instagram (indact you bumped into me 🙂 ). Great instagram and blog!! Looking forward to following both.

    1. Thanks a lot Shani! Just started following your blog also so look forward to seeing where you and your family end up! Travel with kids is great while they are at an age to do it! Go for it! 🙂

  5. THanks for the follow that led me to your awesome blog! Happy to follow back and looking forward to chatting here or there 🙂

  6. Hi Aleasha, lovely to discover your blog today via your 2015 review post. I’m glad I took the time to have a look around, to find that you are also from NZ and a Marimekko lover 🙂 Finland looks amazing – what a wonderful adventure you and your family are having. All the best for 2016.

  7. Hey there! Can I ask you something? I think you said you’re blog is on Instagram… How has that gone? Would you recommend it, has it brought more traffic to your blog? I’m just wondering… I feel bad that I’m not promoting myself anywhere but I just don’t believe in it enough 😉 I’m also wondering what a blog’s Facebook or Twitter accounts would be like, what would I tweet, just photos with links to my blog? Hmm.. Anyway, hope all is well and you haven’t completely frozen yet! 😉

  8. Hi Aleasha! So lovely to connect with you again! I didn’t realize you moved to Seattle (my original hometown)…hope you and your lovelies are enjoying the Pacific NW. After 10 years in Asia, we
moved from Beijing to Washington DC two weeks ago and are getting settled in–keep your eye out for AMULET by D in the US soon. 🙂 Hugs, Doris
